The Tooth Fairy has long black hair that blows in the wind. She is smiling. She wears a long, pink dress with yellow starts on it and green slippers. She carries a black purse to keep the teeth in. She has two wings that look like butterfly wings. They are yellow, pink, and green. Her wand has a green handle and a star at the end. It sparkles to help her see in the dark.
Is this what the Tooth Fairy looks like? Students in Room 123 listened to these words and visualized what the Tooth Fairy may look like. Take a look at their creations:

This activity served as Room 123’s introduction to the International Tooth Tally Project. In its 11th year, this project allows students from all over the world to share how many teeth they lose over the course of three months. Along the way, students can learn more about life in other countries as well as hone their math skills. Watch for more Tooth Tally activities over the coming weeks!

Hi first graders,
I enjoyed viewing your drawings of what the Tooth Fairy looks like – you have very creative ideas. I can’t wait to find out how many teeth all of the students in the International Tooth Tally Project lose – it is going to be a very, very big number!
