Reading is thinking
Reading is more than simply decoding the words on a page. To truly understand, readers use a process to take their thinking deeper. First, they retell the story to insure they remember important details. Then, they analyze what they read to identify the lesson the author wants them to think about. Finally, they extend their thinking by applying those lessons to their own lives.
