Room 123 Review of Books
After recommending titles to each other, readers in Room 123 were eager to share their favorite books with their Senior Kindergarten friends. That’s how our book review project began.
Students first surveyed SK students to determine their book preferences. They also analyzed published book reviews to identify the elements included in good reviews. Next, they worked in groups to write and rehearse their reviews. Finally, they recorded them. (We found that recording individual voices was more challenging than recording choral recitations–we hope you will appreciate our first efforts.) Special thanks to Ms. Kreul for sharing her microphone!
As you check out their reviews, listen for a hook to catch the audience’s attention, information about the book, why makes it a good book, and what the audience can do next. Enjoy, and consider taking their advice!
