Earning our keep
Spending, saving, donating: how do people make decisions about their money? First graders are exploring answers to that question as part of our Social Studies curriculum.
Before they can spend, save or donate money, of course, people have to earn it. Along with other first grade classes, students in Room 123 had the chance to do that last week.
Each first grade class is making goods or preparing thank you notes for donations to a charitable organization. In a few weeks, they will all have the chance to buy some of these goods, donate to the American Red Cross, or save their money at the First Grade Marketplace.
